About Us

Lompoc Valley Medical Center is comprised of three facilities located in the City of Lompoc. The acute hospital is a 60-bed facility offering emergency, critical care, obstetrical, medical-surgical, and surgical services to the community. The Comprehensive Care Center is a 110-bed long-term care and skilled nursing facility. Once it is licensed by the CDPH and open, the Champion Center will offer a unique service -- the “Heroes Program” – to first responders. It will focus on the “care and restoration” of military, law enforcement and fire department professionals who are struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and chemical dependency issues.

The Lompoc Valley Medical Center provides healthcare services to all residents of the district from newborns to geriatric, birth through end-of-life. Additionally, LVMC engages experts in the field to conduct external surveys aimed at assessing the future healthcare needs of the community.

The scope and complexity of care provided ranges from emergent and critical care to maintaining the activities of daily living. These services are provided 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. All LVMC facilities are staffed with appropriate licensed professionals to meet the needs of the patients and residents requiring such services. When appropriate, staff may be placed on call to enable them to remain at home or in the area and at the same time respond when needed.

All practice guidelines are jointly established with physicians and clinical staff and finally approved by the medical staff prior to implementation. The District complies with all state and federal guidelines as well as guidelines published by appropriate public or private agencies.

With input from our employees, management staff, medical staff and Board of Directors, LVMC has defined our organizational mission, vision and values as follows:

Our Mission: Who We Are and What We Do

We are a community-based healthcare organization providing quality inpatient, outpatient, and long-term healthcare services, appropriately and compassionately.

Our Vision: What We Will Be

We will be a leader in an organized and coordinated healthcare system and an advocate for good health for the Lompoc Valley, and a community educator regarding healthcare issues. This will be accomplished through continually improving existing services, innovation, teamwork, and operational excellence. Our success will come through superior service, responsible use of resources, and cooperation with others.  We will achieve our purpose and vision for our patients, customers, partners, and the community by promoting the following values.

Our Values: What Guides Our Actions

  • Maintaining the trust of our community, patients and residents.
  • Continuously striving to improve our services.
  • Communicating openly and honestly.
  • Working as a team with each other, the medical staff, our patients and residents.
  • Being compassionate and caring to everyone we serve.
  • Encouraging District staff to grow professionally.
  • Using resources efficiently.
