Patient Satisfaction

Lompoc Valley Medical Center participates in a nationwide program that surveys patients about their experiences at LVMC. In September, 2011 LVMC was recognized for our efforts in improving patient care.

Lompoc Valley Medical Center is fully committed to providing each of our patients and their family members with the best possible hospital experience.  To ensure our patients are satisfied with the care we provide, we ask them to tell us about their experiences in our facilities and their level of satisfaction with the services provided by our staff.  The information provided is used to continually improve the experiences of the patients who entrust us with their lives.


The new national standard for measuring the satisfaction among hospital patients’ satisfaction among patients receiving care at LVMC will be reported through Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), a voluntary national, standardized survey of hospital patients' perspectives of their care.  The public reporting of HCAHPS results will enable patients to make valid comparisons across all hospitals when evaluating and selecting hospital providers.  

HCAHPS is sponsored by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.  Results are available on the Hospital Compare website.

 LVMC was a recipient in September 2011 for the Path to Excellence Award for most improved patient satisfaction scores out of 300 hospitals nationwide!
