Physical Therapy Assistant
This position reports to the Director of Rehabilitation Services. The Physical Therapist Assistant plans, coordinates and implements patient care and progress patient care plans in the assigned area (inpatient, outpatient, or CCC departments). Performs patient-related responsibilities delegated by and under the supervision of the Physical Therapist. Ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the department and district; is adaptable to a dynamic healthcare district and department; demonstrates quality and efficiency in work habits and respect. Demonstrates understanding of cultural diversity and growth and development over the life span; able to identify each patient’s cultural and age-specific needs and to adapt interaction and treatment to meet those needs. Must work well under stress or tight deadlines. Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients/residents, family members and visitors.
PT Assistant with current valid California PT Assistant license or acceptance of application for State of California PTA Licensing Examination and current valid CPR certification. New graduate may be considered. CPR Certification. Knowledge of physical therapy treatment to patients of all ages. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits the ability to organize work assignments and follow through with accuracy; exercise good judgment, demonstrate initiative and emotional stability, tact and poise.
