Obstetrics Department

Mission Statement

The OB/GYN department is a specialized nursing care unit that provides quality inpatient and outpatient care for newborns, women who are pregnant, or for women undergoing gynecological surgical procedure to professionally and compassionately meet the needs of the community.

Scope of Service

The OB/GYN departments scope of service is the same a the nursing department with an emphasis on neonatal, prenatal, and gynecological patients.

Childbirth Classes
As a service to the community, Lompoc Valley Medical Center offers classes for first time mothers planning to give birth at Lompoc Hospital. These classes are provided in an attempt to raise awareness of proper childbirth techniques and to help ease the transition into motherhood.
