Business Operations is the center for all patient billing, admissions and discharge processes, and therefore has a mission to maintain a cordial and confidential approach with the population of Lompoc, while at the same time maximizing cash collections in line with the mission, vision, and values of the Lompoc Healthcare District.
Scope of Service
Business Operations serves all patients of all ages. We assist patients with their registration needs including insurance verification/coverage, inquiring about their advance directives and notifying patients of their rights and obligations.
We are staffed with several bi-lingual members who are able to translate for our Spanish speaking clients. We make appropriate and timely referrals to support Case Management and direct patients to the correct departments for their appropriate level of care of services ordered.
Registration staff are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days/year. Likewise, our Data Processing area functions 365 days a year. Patient Accounting/Billing works Monday through Friday and has extended hours recently to include evening hours. We follow all financial aspects of the patients' care from pre-registration to the final payment.
Our professional standards include Affinity System procedure manuals, the District Personnel & Administrative Manuals, JCAHO and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) standards and the California Hospital Association Consent Manual.
