Lompoc Valley Medical Center has earned the Leapfrog Full Transparency Badge, recognizing its commitment to publicly reporting information about patient safety and quality through the annual Leapfrog Hospital Survey.
The Full Transparency Badge is awarded to hospitals that complete, affirm and submit all sections of the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, one of the nation’s leading voluntary reporting programs focused on patient safety, quality and transparency.

“Transparency is an important part of the trust our community places in Lompoc Valley Medical Center,” said Chief Executive Officer Yvette Cope, MSN, RN. “By openly reporting information about patient safety and quality, we hold ourselves accountable to the people we serve and demonstrate our commitment to continually improving the care we provide. Earning the Leapfrog Full Transparency Badge reflects the work of our physicians, nurses and staff throughout the organization who make quality and patient safety a priority every day.”

As a public healthcare district, LVMC recognizes a particular responsibility to the community it serves. That responsibility extends beyond providing high-quality clinical care to being open about performance, continually evaluating opportunities for improvement and ensuring patients and families have access to meaningful information about the care they receive.

LVMC’s commitment to quality and patient safety is reflected throughout the organization, from investments in technology and clinical services to ongoing staff education, quality improvement initiatives and nationally recognized programs. Recent achievements include recognition of the Comprehensive Care Center as a U.S. News & World Report “Best Nursing Home” for 2026 with a High Performing rating, as well as LVMC’s continued designation as a Blue Distinction® Center for Knee and Hip Replacement. LVMC has also earned recognition as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery and achieved a MBSAQIP Comprehensive Center with Obesity Medicine Qualifications accreditation, reflecting the organization’s ongoing investment in advanced surgical care close to home. Additionally, LVMC is a designated Acute Stroke Ready Hospital.

The Leapfrog Full Transparency Badge appears on Leapfrog's public ratings website and identifies hospitals that have committed to openly sharing information about their performance. Leapfrog’s ratings and reports are peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
