Lompoc Valley Medical Center is revving up for a new community event in October, inviting car enthusiasts and spectators to its inaugural Shift Change Car Show.
“Shift Change at Ocean & 7th” will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Lompoc Valley Medical Center, 1515 E. Ocean Ave. Vehicle arrivals will begin at 9 a.m.
Registration for car owners opens to the public Friday, Aug. 21, with classic cars, custom builds, cruisers, hot rods, trucks, motorcycles and other unique vehicles welcome to participate. Space is limited, and advance registration is encouraged. Registration is $30 per vehicle.
For those who would rather admire the vehicles, admission to view the cars on display is free and open to the public. Community members are encouraged to bring family and friends, stroll through the displays and enjoy an afternoon of cars, food, music and community.
“We’re excited to bring something new and fun to the community with our first Shift Change at Ocean & 7th,” said LVMC Volunteer and Marketing Coordinator Kristina Grasser. “We know there are some incredible cars and passionate automotive enthusiasts throughout the Lompoc Valley and Central Coast, and we hope they’ll come be part of our inaugural show. We also want the entire community to know they’re invited to come to the hospital grounds, see the entries and enjoy the day with us at no cost.”
The event will feature DJ entertainment provided by LVMC Maintenance employee Jason Murphy, food trucks with meals and refreshments available for purchase, and a wide variety of vehicles on display.
Proceeds from vehicle registrations will benefit the mission of the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation, helping to advance programs, equipment, technology and initiatives that strengthen healthcare for the Lompoc Valley.
Vehicle owners interested in participating are encouraged to register early to secure a space in the inaugural show. Sponsorships are also being sought, allowing local businesses the opportunity to support local healthcare education and endeavors. Sponsor benefits vary by level and may include event signage, promotional recognition, social media acknowledgement, logo placement and more.
