Be Prepared for a Possible Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS)

Lompoc Valley Medical Center has received notice that power companies such as PG&E and Southern California Edison may periodically turn off public power during extreme weather or wildfire conditions. This is called a Public Safety Power Shutoff. When that occurs, LVMC is prepared to assist people who are dependent on electricity to maintain their health status.

Because Public Safety Power Shutoff may occur throughout the fire season, it is recommended people have an emergency plan in place, especially if dependent on electricity for healthcare needs. Residents are advised to be prepared for power outages that may last 3-5 days.
