Physician to Outline Path to ‘Gut Health for Total Body Wellness’

During a free community lecture Oct. 9, Lompoc Valley Medical Center hospitalist Dr. Dushyant Viswanathan will discuss the crucial role intestines play in the immune system and overall organ health.

Dr. Viswanathan, the co-founder of V2 Health hospitalist service, is dual board-certified in both internal medicine and integrative medicine.

His lecture will be held from 6 to 8 pm October 9 in LVMC’s Ocean’s Seven Café, 1515 East Ocean Ave.

Dr. Viswanathan, who is nicknamed “Dr. DV,” will discuss overall organ health related to the brain, liver, skin, heart, kidneys, and lungs.

“Understanding these connections can help lead to better overall health and decrease your cancer risk,” Dr. Viswanathan said.

Dr. Viswanathan is also Chief Medical Officer of The Columbia Center for Integrative Medicine. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biologic Sciences and philosophy from the University of California at Irvine and his Doctorate of Medicine at St. George’s University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at San Joaquin General Hospital.

The lecture is part of the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation’s Community Education Lecture Series.
