Lompoc Hospital District Foundation Golf Tourney raises funds to expand Lompoc Valley healthcare

With the support of golfers, sponsors, donors and auction bidders, the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation raised more than $75,500 with its 2025 Flower Valley Golf Classic tournament on May 9, 2025.
The nonprofit Foundation hosted the tournament at the Mission Club in Vandenberg Village, with more than 100 golfers enjoying the challenging and beautiful course.
Proceeds from this year’s Flower Valley Golf Classic will be donated to Lompoc Valley Medical Center to assist in the opening of the planned Lompoc Health – Village Center on Constellation Avenue.
“The 33rd annual Foundation Flower Valley Golf Classic was a resounding success,” said Foundation President and Founder Alice Milligan. “Mother Nature came through with an absolutely beautiful day at the Mission Club. Our sponsors, who are always there to support the Foundation, donated more than $74,000 for the event! We had 119 golfers who enjoyed the festivities of the day. A special thank you to Mission Club staff who always makes the golfers feel welcome and ensure the golfers enjoy the day. My appreciation to the Foundation Planning Committee, who spent countless hours working on this event.

Major sponsors for this year’s tournament included: Hole in One sponsor Sunset Auto Center; Banquet sponsor Baroda Farms; Happy Hour sponsor Mission Linen Supply; Golf Cart sponsor Jordano’s and Lunch sponsor Lompoc Valley Community Healthcare Organization (LVCHO).
Other sponsors include Accounting Benefactor Walker, Wilson and Hughen CPAs.
Major Benefactors this year were the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians, Patrick Lind and CoastHills Credit Union. Straightest Drive sponsor was Allan Hancock College; Longest Drive sponsors were Marris and Garritano Insurance and Starbuck-Lind Mortuary, while Oasis sponsors were Digital Telecommunications Corp. and Lompoc Dental Associates.
This year, fundraising efforts will aid LVMC in its goal of opening the new Lompoc Health – Village clinic, to serve the healthcare needs of residents of Vandenberg Village, Vandenberg Space Force Base and the entire Lompoc Valley community. The new location, expected to open in 2026, will enable LVMC to have additional clinic space, including some primary care providers, Ear, Nose and Throat specialists as well as a walk-in Urgent Care clinic.
At the end of the tourney, the 1st Low Net Team winners were Kyle Perry, Cody Perry, Nicholas Martinez and Isaac Thomas. The 2nd Low Net Team winners were Steve Popkin, Michael Coombs, Keith Imano and Dr. Cedric Kwon.
The 1st Gross winners for the tournament were Darek Petrak, Mitch Petrak, Don Wildes and Kevin Wildes. The putting contest was won by Mike Henson. Closest to the Pin winners were Carl Sager, Jay Benedict, George Stillman and Michael Coombs.
The nonprofit Lompoc Hospital Foundation was founded more than 35 years ago to help LVMC purchase medical equipment and make capital improvements. The Flower Valley Golf Classic is the Foundation’s major fundraiser of the year. The Foundation’s next fundraiser is the Colorthon 5K on Sept. 27, 2025 at the Mission Club. Registration and sponsorship opportunities will be announced in the summer.
