Lompoc Valley Medical Center is proud to celebrate National Hospital Week with a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated healthcare professionals who make exceptional, local care possible for the Lompoc Valley community.
As the only hospital serving the Lompoc Valley – an honor it has held for more than 80 years – LVMC plays a vital role in ensuring access to high-quality, compassionate care. During the special week, LVMC recognizes the extraordinary efforts of its nurses, physicians, Advanced Care Practitioners, support staff and volunteers who embody its mission.
“We honor every member of our team who works tirelessly around the clock to care for our patients and keep our organization strong,” said Chief Executive Officer Yvette Cope. “From bedside caregivers to behind-the-scenes heroes, every role is vital. That includes our nurses and physicians, but also the full spectrum of staff who keep our hospital running — from Environmental Services to Information Systems, from Facilities Maintenance to Dietary Services, from Health Information Management to Human Resources — and all the other integral departments and employees who are the heart of LVMC, Lompoc Health, and the Comprehensive Care Center. In a community like the Lompoc Valley, healthcare is more than a service — it’s a lifeline. I am proud of our team’s dedication to our mission and the people we serve.”
On June 29, LVMC will also mark 15 years in its current location at 1515 E. Ocean Ave., after having moved from its longtime site on D Street. The CCC is also celebrating its 50th year in 2025.
Throughout the week, LVMC will host a variety of appreciation events, including celebration cake honoring staff and commemorating the hospital’s anniversary. Staff will also be treated to a free meal from one of several local food trucks and will enjoy “popcornopolis” and a give-away raffle.
The hospital invites the public to join in recognizing healthcare workers this month, or any other time, by sending notes of appreciation or sharing stories of excellent care. Several options are available to spotlight both nursing staff and non-clinical employees. The DAISY award recognizes nurses for exceptional care, while the BEE recognizes and honors the exceptional skills and daily compassion given to patients by non-nursing staff.
