Lompoc Valley Medical Center’s Comprehensive Care Center Named Among “2026 Best Nursing Homes” by U.S. News & World Report

Lompoc Valley Medical Center is proud to announce that its Comprehensive Care Center (CCC) has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the “2026 Best Nursing Homes” in the nation. The CCC earned a “High Performing” designation -- the highest possible rating -- in the publication’s annual evaluation of nearly 15,000 skilled nursing facilities across the United States.

This prestigious recognition comes as the CCC celebrates its 50th year of service to the Lompoc Valley community.

“Lompoc Valley Medical Center’s Comprehensive Care Center Skilled Nursing Facility is among the elite 19 percent of SNFs that earned a ‘High Performing’ rating, the highest possible achievement,” said Mark White, Vice President of U.S. News & World Report. He noted that the designation is a “widely recognized symbol of excellence in U.S. healthcare” awarded by an unbiased and trusted evaluator.

Best Nursing Homes ratings are based on U.S. News’ in-depth analysis of publicly available data, including information that is not factored into the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services star ratings. Unlike the star ratings, the U.S. News ratings recognize that patients undergoing relatively short-term rehabilitation have very different needs from those who require longer-term custodial care.

“This recognition from U.S. News & World Report as one of the 2026 Best Nursing Homes is a proud moment for our entire Lompoc Valley community,” said LVMC Chief Executive Officer Yvette Cope, MSN. “It is a tribute to the wholehearted commitment of our staff, who provide exceptional care and compassion every day. We are grateful for the trust our residents and families place in us and remain dedicated to delivering excellence in all we do.”

For the 2026 ratings, U.S. News evaluated 17 separate quality measures, including staffing, medical outcomes, infection rates and patient safety indicators.

The Comprehensive Care Center offers personalized care plans for patients needing long-term care, skilled nursing and rehabilitative services, continuing its longstanding mission to offer high-quality, compassionate care to the Lompoc Valley community.
