Lompoc Hospital District Foundation Donates $1 Million to Support New Lompoc Health – Village Center

During its annual meeting this week, the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation presented a $1 million donation to Lompoc Valley Medical Center in support of the new Lompoc Health – Village Center.

At the meeting, Foundation Executive Board members presented a ceremonial check to LVMC and affirmed their commitment to continued fundraising for the new medical facility. The Village Center is expected to open in the summer of 2026, offering walk-in Urgent Care, Primary Care, specialty services, and, in a later phase, a lab draw station and X-ray.

“The clinic will be a great addition for our community and a very positive addition to the Vandenberg Village, Mission Hills and the Vandenberg Space Force Base area,” said Foundation President Alice Milligan. “We encourage others to consider joining us toward meeting the first goal of $3 million as we look forward to its opening in 2026.”

LVMC Chief Executive Officer Yvette Cope, MSN, expressed her deep appreciation for the Foundation’s support and the significant donation.

“The healthcare industry has dramatically changed over the past few years and reliance on Foundations to fund major capital projects is crucial,” Cope said. “And you all have accepted this challenge with passion and vision. Thank you. We will do this – together.”

Cope noted that demand for healthcare services continues to increase. During the past five years, annual visits to Lompoc Health’s two multi-specialty clinics have more than doubled, surpassing 105,000 visits this past year.

“We have been steadily increasing the number of healthcare providers in our Lompoc Health clinics but realized several years ago that we would eventually reach capacity regarding the space available for new physicians,” she added.

Construction bids for the first phase of the Village Center have already been submitted. Phase One will encompass approximately 8,000-square-feet and include 14 exam rooms to accommodate an estimated seven providers. The facility is located at the corner of Burton Mesa Boulevard and Constellation Avenue, adjacent to CoastHills Credit Union, in Vandenberg Village.

The Lompoc Hospital District Foundation, established in 1990, works to ensure continued access to modern, high-quality healthcare services in the Lompoc Valley by supporting capital improvements at LVMC. The Foundation also offers health-related educational lectures throughout the year and organizes community events such as the Senior Expo, Flower Valley Golf Classic and the annual Colorthon.
