Hospital Foundation Colorthon Raises $28,000 for Future Clinic

More than 350 enthusiastic runners and walkers turned out on Sept. 27, 2025, for the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation Colorthon — a fun-filled, color-splashed morning that blended fitness, community spirit and philanthropy. The lively event raised more than $28,000 to support the opening of the new Lompoc Health – Village Center clinic, bringing the community one step closer to expanded local healthcare services.

The 5K walk/run was held at the Mission Club in Vandenberg Village, and included teams, individuals and families traversing the course and its color stations. At predetermined spots throughout the course, volunteers doused participants with brightly colored corn starch, coating them in a rainbow effect by the end of the course.

“The 2025 Colorthon was an incredible success,” said Lompoc Hospital District Foundation President Alice Milligan. “It was a beautiful day, and so inspiring to see our community come together—families, friends, and supporters—all having fun for a great cause. We’re especially grateful to the Mission Club for once again providing such a fantastic venue and to their staff for being so welcoming and helpful.”

Proceeds from the 2025 Colorthon will be donated to Lompoc Valley Medical Center to help fund the opening of Lompoc Health – Village Center, a new healthcare facility designed to serve Vandenberg Village, Vandenberg Space Force Base and the entire Lompoc Valley. Anticipated to open in early 2026, this much-needed health center will expand access to primary care, urgent care and specialty services such as ENT.

“Thanks to the generosity of our participants, sponsors, and volunteers, we raised over $28,000 this year to support the opening of a new health clinic in our community,” Milligan said. “This is a major step forward in expanding access to care for local residents.”

She added, “A heartfelt thank you to everyone who continues to support our Foundation and its mission. Your involvement truly makes a difference.”

LVMC Chief Executive Officer Yvette Cope, MSN, expressed gratitude on behalf of the hospital district.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation and everyone who participated in this year’s Colorthon 5K for the generous $28,000 donation," Cope said. "This support brings us one step closer to opening the new Lompoc Health - Village Center clinic, which will expand access to care for our community. It’s inspiring to see how our community comes together — not just to have a colorful day of fun and celebrate, but to invest in a healthier future for everyone.”
