Dr. Christopher Taglia will present this informative lecture on the establishment and success of LVMC’s Robotic Surgery program. The first surgery using the da Vinci XI Single Console Robotic System at LVMC occurred in 2021. After achieving high quality outcomes and performing a significant volume of robotic cases, LVMC earned “Center of Excellence” accreditation in 2022 from the Surgical Review Corp. – the only such designation for a hospital on the Central Coast.
As a Master Robotic Surgeon, Dr. Taglia has performed close to 1,000 robotic surgeries since 2021.

- Future applications of robotic technology and artificial intelligence
Dr. Taglia, F.A.C.S., F.A.S.M.B.S., D.A.B.O.M., is a General, Minimally Invasive, and Bariatric Surgeon at LVMC. He is the Director of Robotic Surgery at LVMC and sees patients at Lompoc Health – North H Center. He earned the designation of Master Robotic Surgeon from the Surgical Review Corp.
Dr. Taglia attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and completed his residency in general surgery at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgeries at North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, New York. He specializes in advanced laparoscopic surgery, weight-loss surgery, endoscopy, anti-reflux surgery and hernia repair.
