As we close out the first quarter of our fiscal year, there is a great deal happening across Lompoc Valley Medical Center and Lompoc Health, and I am pleased to welcome you to the first edition of LVMC Quarterly.

Over the past three months, we have continued to make meaningful progress on several important priorities for our organization. Work on Lompoc Health – Village Center continues as we prepare to expand access to primary care, walk-in primary care, pediatrics, ENT, laboratory and X-ray services in Vandenberg Village. This summer, we also had the opportunity to welcome community members into the space for a first look at the new facility and share our vision for how it will serve patients and families.

We have also continued to invest in the future of LVMC. Teams throughout the organization have been working on initiatives related to quality and patient safety, technology, workforce development, population health and new models of care. We recently received encouraging news regarding significant state funding opportunities that could help support some of this work, and we look forward to sharing more as those efforts move forward.

Our work in the community has remained just as active. From community health initiatives and educational programs to events and partnerships with local organizations, our employees continue to represent LVMC throughout the Lompoc Valley. The Lompoc Hospital District Foundation has also had a strong start to the year, continuing its work to build community support for the Village Center and other programs that benefit our patients and organization.

As we move into the second quarter, there is much more ahead. We will continue preparing the Village Center for opening, advancing projects that strengthen our clinical and operational capabilities, investing in our employees, and looking for new opportunities to better serve our patients and community.

I hope LVMC Quarterly provides another way for all of us to stay connected to the work happening throughout our organization and, importantly, to the people making it happen.

Thank you for everything you do for LVMC, our patients and our community.
