Hospital Foundation Golf Tourney raises funds for CCC Paratransit Van

With the support of golfers, sponsors and auction bidders, the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation raised almost $78,000 with its 2024 Flower Valley Golf Classic tournament in May.

The nonprofit Foundation hosted the tournament at the Mission Club in Vandenberg Village.

Proceeds from this year’s Flower Valley Golf Classic will be donated to Lompoc Valley Medical Center towards the purchase of a wheelchair-accessible paratransit van for the Comprehensive Care Center, the hospital district’s skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. The van is used to transport CCC residents to medical appointments, field trips and other locations. The current CCC van is more than 15 years old and is in need of replacement.

“This was the 32nd year for the Flower Valley Golf Classic,” said Foundation President Alice Milligan. “Again, thanks to our outstanding Planning Committee, it was a tremendous success. We are indebted to the sponsors who step forward each year to contribute to this important event. A special thank you to the Mission Club, who are wonderful hosts and make all of our golfers feel welcome and ensure they enjoy the day. Thank you to all who made this event possible.”

Major sponsors for this year’s tournament included: Hole in One sponsor Jim Vreeland Ford; Golf Cart sponsor Jordano’s; Happy Hour sponsor Mission Linen and Lunch Sponsor Lompoc Valley Community Healthcare Organization. Other sponsors included Banquet Sponsor Baroda Farms and Accounting Benefactor Walker, Wilson and Hughen CPAs. Major Benefactors this year were LVMC Chief Executive Officer Steve Popkin, MissionSquare Retirement and the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians.
